About Us

Wellness Unfolding is a functionally dedicated approach to improving lives through diet, lifestyle changes, supplementation and careful guidance. You may have asked yourself what exactly is an FNTP??

An FNTP (Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner) is a wellness practitioner that uses holistic health methods and nutrition to improve the function of the body with whole medicinal foods instead of pharmaceutical drugs. By looking at what a person has been eating and their lifestyle habits that may have contributed to their symptoms and diseases, we then work together with the client to educate them and help them overcome their issues. The body can heal itself if it is equipped with the proper foundations and building blocks for optimal health.

The Nutritional Therapy Association’s Foundations of Health are the basis for my approach to optimal health. A properly prepared, nutrient-dense diet that supports digestion, blood sugar regulation, essential fatty acid balance, adequate minerals and proper hydration is truly the foundation for any healthy lifestyle. If the foundation isn’t strong, anything you build upon it will eventually crumble.

Ideal health can be achieved through a holistic and individualized full body approach to nutrition and lifestyle, addressing the underlying contributors to dis-ease rather than only treating the symptoms.  Many of our health problems are linked to deficiencies from poor nutrition caused by the standard american diet, misinformation, the abundance of processed foods and stressful life-work imbalances.

Each client will require a unique approach that is dependent on their own bio-individual needs and circumstances. There is no ‘one size fits all’ solution. We all have unique needs and circumstances based on our genetics, predispositions, our environment, stress levels, age, and so much more. By paying attention to what our body is telling us, we can answer the call by strengthening our foundations, honoring ancestral wisdom and enjoying food as nature provided it – in the best form for our bodies to utilize it.

The difference between an NTP and an FNTP is that the ‘functional’ distinction allows the practitioner to offer a functional clinical assessment (FCA) which is a hands on evaluation based on specific body areas that point to sensitivities and inflammations in various organs such as the liver, stomach, small intestine, etc. The FCA also allows for lingual-neural testing which is a technique based on the body’s innate ability and unique needs to determine what is good for it and what isn’t.

What People Are Saying..

Wellness Unfolding’s basic evaluation alone helped me understand things about my body that I haven’t heard of before! I am amazed by the knowledge Maha shared with me and I hope to make her recommendations for my body a permanent lifestyle change!

– Mia Adams

Maha showed me how my diet was creating fatigue. There were some tough lessons to learn, but she made it easy to adapt to. I’m really grateful for her counsel.

– Liya Williams

I didn’t realize prescription medication was masking the problem and not treating it. I’m so glad I came across this video. Now I know to ask more questions when it comes to medications I’m prescribed and to look into my diet as a source for my mental and/or physical issues.
